Goan cuisine in Geneva
Coconut curries, xacuti and vindaloo from India’s west coast — halal-certified, at Copperleaf in Pâquis.
What is Goan food?
Goa is a small state on India’s west coast, ruled by Portugal for more than four centuries. Its cooking reflects that history: Indian spices meet vinegar, garlic and chillies brought by Portuguese traders, while the coast supplies coconut and abundant seafood. The result is one of India’s most distinctive regional cuisines — tangy, aromatic and often fiery.
At Copperleaf you can taste Goa without leaving Geneva. Our Goan menu runs alongside our Indian and African dishes, so you can share a xacuti, a tandoori grill and a nyama choma at the same table.

Dishes to try
Goa’s famous fiery curry, descended from the Portuguese “carne de vinha d’alhos” (meat in wine-vinegar and garlic). We serve beef and lamb vindaloo — two chillies hot.
A complex curry of roasted grated coconut and up to a dozen roasted spices. Our chicken xacuti is a chef’s favourite.
Sea bream simmered in a bright, tangy coconut curry — the everyday dish of Goan homes.
Goan street food: an omelette bathed in chicken coconut curry (“ros”), served with naan.
